Pornography: the flood, and a darker new current.

Pornography is like a slot machine — built on novelty and instant reward. Smartphones made it limitless and algorithms personal.

In India the content has slipped its old boundaries. It no longer lives only on adult sites a filter can block; it circulates through Instagram, Telegram and X, where exposure is casual and constant.

The gate within the gate

AI has begun manufacturing sexual abuse on its own — no victim in the room required. A predator needs only a classmate's photograph. Nearly every synthetic intimate image online is non-consensual, and its victims are overwhelmingly women and girls.

A word to the church

Pornography is no longer a problem at the margins — it's dinner-table normal, quietly reshaping how a generation learns intimacy, consent and worth, alone on a screen. Left unanswered, it doesn't stay contained: it reshapes marriages, blunts a culture's conscience, and dresses up child abuse as entertainment. A society that stops being shocked by this has already lost something it won't easily recover.

This is exactly where the global church is sent to stand. The gospel was never meant to be preached at a safe distance from sin. it's carried to the point of captivity itself, with the courage to name it and the compassion to stay once named. A church that only warns from the pulpit, but never walks into the mess, hasn't finished its assignment.

We can't preach freedom while pretending we don't need it ourselves. This gate pulls as hard in the vestry as anywhere else, and most fight it alone. Restoration has to begin honestly inside the body of Christ, in real confession, real accountability, before it can be offered to the world with integrity.

“Anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.”
Matthew 5:28
